SINGAPORE – 13 JAN 2017 – UnaBiz has announced an open innovation challenge at the year’s first IoT event organised by IoTSG held at the Blk 71 – NUS Enterprise.
Well attended by over 100 passionate IoT experts and enthusiasts, the open-door event saw an engaging discussion of use cases of low-power wide-area network (LPWAN), and how Sigfox’s long-range, low-power and cost-effective network is going to enable massive deployment and immediate scaling up of IoT in the city-state.
A diverse panel of speakers addressed the floor, with representatives from LKH Precicon – industrial automation and monitoring distribution company, SpaceAge Labs – IoT prototyping, design and engineering firm, and Kyocera – system integrator from the pioneer innovator technology group and leading manufacturer of electronic devices in Japan. The speakers shared their ongoing IoT projects and engaged in a lively discussion with the attendees during the Q&A session.
Henri Bong, the CEO and Founder of UnaBiz, announced the innovation challenge at his opening speech. “As the first IoT dedicated network operator in Singapore licensed by IMDA, UnaBiz is committed to support the local community of IoT developers. We are providing a unique and open platform for both companies and individuals to drive the growth of IoT ecosystem in Asia. This innovation challenge seeks to encourage entrepreneurs to bring their ideas from conception to reality. By leveraging on our resources and network of experts, developers can accelerate their go-to-market process and deploy solutions in Singapore and beyond, where the Sigfox’s network is readily present in 28 other countries globally.”
UnaBiz will review all proposals and announce up to three winners of the challenge in Asia’s largest IoT exhibition and conference IoT Asia 2017, hosted in March in Singapore. Selected projects will gain free access to Sigfox’s network, development kits hardware, technical consultation with UnaBiz’s team, seed funding to produce their first prototype and access to UnaBiz and Sigfox users.
More details about the selection criteria and submission will be announced before the lunar new year.
